Review of Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids

[Following is a volunteer review of "Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids" by Jemima Paul, Arvind Paul.]
I rated this story a 4/5 for the following reasons:
This book was full of great information for children to work through with their parents. I think children will relate to the characters Bella and Emma and enjoy learning more about heaven with them. I thought the characters in this story were well written and I thought the dynamic between the family members portrays an excellent example of a healthy family.
I also enjoyed that the book took time to add scripture references for families to review. This is a great resource for parents who may have to answer tough questions after reading this story with their children. I think this book is an excellent way to start having these conversations with children.
Also, I thought the pictures went perfectly with the text and would help children visualize the story. I thought there were a lot of words on the page that would require a child who is not yet reading to listen to the story as someone else reads, but the pictures allow a child to look back through the book independently to follow the story line. I also thought this book was very well edited and did not find any typos!
My main concern with this story is that parents be aware of the fact that Hell is discussed in this book. It would be a good idea to review this before reading this section with their children (as they know what their children can handle better than anyone else). I thought some of the content was a little scary for young audiences and I don’t want young children to be exposed to things they are not quite ready to hear.
A way I think this story could have improved would have been if we had gotten to go to heaven with Emma and witnessed some of the things she experienced alongside her. I think that these stories might hold the attention of young audiences better than the conversation between Emma and her parents and made me more inclined to rate it a 5/5.
