[Following is a volunteer review of "Break up with him now" by Lena Lubinka.]
"Break Up With Him Now! Before It's too late" by Lena Lubinka, is a riveting tale that resonates with many women. The central character is a woman trapped in a dark, toxic relationship, manipulated into staying with her partner, time and again. The story explores the idea of reclaiming power by choosing to leave. Despite the escalating toxicity, the protagonist remains, enduring humiliation, mistreatment, and various manipulative tactics that prevent her from breaking free.
This book is a beacon of inspiration, delving into themes of recovery, self-discovery, and personal growth. Readers accompany the protagonist on her journey from toxicity towards hope and light. The author masterfully portrays the struggle of disentangling oneself from all-consuming negativity. Through evocative descriptions, readers witness the protagonist's emotional turmoil and subsequent healing process.
The author illustrates the various routes the protagonist takes during her healing, supplanting negative experiences with positive ones. "Break Up With Him Now" provides numerous inspiring lessons on handling breakups and maintaining positivity.
While the book is well-crafted and articulate, I am deducting two stars as there are a few areas that could enhance it further.
-Rather than merely substituting horror for comedy, delve into how the protagonist uncovers a new passion or pastime, providing a positive outlet for her energy.
-Depict the protagonist's journey of self-acceptance, embracing her imperfections. Accentuate the instances that lead her to accept her distinct attributes.
-Elaborately convey her instances of vulnerability and her struggle with self-love post-breakup. Focus on her evolution as she learns to love herself, emphasizing the minor triumphs that significantly contribute to her overall transformation.
-Ensure a logical and cohesive connection between various sections and scenes, facilitating smooth story progression and enabling readers to follow the protagonist's journey.
Having recently extricated myself from a toxic friendship before it worsened, I found this book profoundly relatable, comforting, and inspiring. I also resonated with the theme of how unresolved childhood trauma magnetizes negative individuals who blame us for everything in our lives. I'm confident that many others will find it relatable too.
On the whole, I believe the author has performed commendably in this book, although there is always scope for enhancement. Hence I am giving this book a 3 out of 5 rating.
