[Following is a volunteer review of "Thriving in the Storm" by Bill Murphy.]
The author here is telling us about hw he grew up,with his bossy control freak father.how he would always whip him or throw him out of nothing.how he would take out the stress out of him.that he didn't want him to go and play till dawn otherwise he will get a hiding.he didn't want his friend's to come over as his father will give them cold shoulder.he won't even ask how they are.he would prefer go out playing at his friend's house that at home.because at home there's always more chores and yelling.but at times his mother would protect them both with his sister.take them out to eat at MacDonald, and burger King, but his monster dad wouldn't as he didn't want them to eat junk food.one day when he was fourteen he backup the car In a driveway and bumped into his dad's boat trailer.and his mother took a bullet for him but his dad yelled and belittle his mother.he never physically abused her but he always yelled ang degraded her daily.they even wished their parents to get divorced.but their mother would ask them wher will she go or do?the author here is basically telling us that we shouldn't take our past with us,we must first work on your past before moving on.as it will hunt you and you gonna take out your anger into others.ists an eye opener.i give this book 5 out of 5
