[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
In the days of old, there lived a wise but wicked king of a great nation. This king had four sons who, being princes, had a legal claim to the throne by the traditions of their kingdom. They all had a desire to inherit the kingdom, hence having the brotherly rivalry amongst themselves. One day the four brothers decided to resolve their conflict and rumors had it that they had a conspiracy against the king. The king believed that his four sons had planned to parcel his kingdom equally amongst themselves once the king is overthrown. The king got worried about the situation and came up with a decision. He removed the four princes from his palace and gave each one of them a small piece of island off the mainland. He also gave each of his sons a small army and lots of weapons to supply more soldiers to defend their holds from invaders. These four islands became prosperous, and the princes become happy for a moment. However, the king began to suspect that each would eventually vie for the entire chain of islands, becoming the sole heir to their father's kingdom, and it was so. Within two years, his sons were already locked in a civil war. If you are curious to know what happened of the four princes and with the land of Voulhire at large, grab the book We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz.
The author has made use of graphics for example maps which makes the understanding of the story easier. I love how the author has given brief description of the characters at the beginning of the book, this will ease the understanding of the story as one is having the knowledge of the purpose of every character in the book. I also love the use of simple language which made the flow of the story easy, and in the cases of any word that is hard to understand, he has given a reference guide at the end of the book. Furthermore, I also love the use of dialogue, which makes the story more dramatic. The story is structured in the old days. I also love the sense of humor that the author has used in writing the book, for example he talked about the scores of honorable guests whom nobody recognized. I found this to be humorous. Furthermore, I also loved how the author made use of several writing styles, for example he included letters in the book.
There is nothing that I did not like about this book.
I rate this book five out of five stars. The book does not have any grammatical error. This shows that it is professionally edited. The book is very entertaining as well as it is an interesting book. I also recognize the author's ability to develop a great story about a kingdom and make it look like it actually existed. All this has earned the book the highest rating.
The book can be used as a script for filming a movie. This is because the story is very dramatic and very interesting as well. I would also recommend this book to fun readers. I enjoyed, so much, reading about the wars between kingdoms.
