Are you looking for a poetry book? The book Shitolian by O. Persaud would be perfect for you. In the book, each poem addresses a different idea, but they all have the commonality of exploring the human condition and struggles such as pain, suffering, and racial discrimination.

Through this book, we can see the power of poetry to capture the essence of human emotions and experiences in a distinct style. In one of the poems, the poet questions the reliability of historical accounts, suggesting that they sometimes fail to accurately capture reality because they may be shaped by individual perceptions. Additionally, the poet uses humor and irony to show the absurdity of how powerful countries extract resources from developing nations. The poems "Shitolian" and "The Soul of Music" are the ones that stood out.

What I liked most about this book was the use of figurative language. Persaud uses stylistic devices such as vivid descriptions, metaphors, and symbolism to enhance the poem's impact on the reader. I learned many lessons from this book. From the analogy of a father and son fishing, I learned the importance of patience. I found the poems about punctuation marks fascinating because the poet gave each punctuation mark a different personality and way of communicating. Also, I appreciated the author's unique writing style.

I found nothing to dislike about this book. It was very engaging and thought-provoking from the first poem to the last. The book's spacing and formatting made navigation easier, improving my reading experience. I would say this is the best poetry book I've read so far.

I would give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The book is professionally edited, and I did not find any grammatical or spelling mistakes. There is the use of profane language. I recommend it to all teenagers and adults, especially those who like poetry.
