Enchanting. Wonderful. Beautifully Told Story. A bedtime story go-to.
Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids is a great book for Christian parents to start to have an age-appropriate discussion with their young children on Heaven and Hell. It allows a young child to explore and think about what Heaven is like without being scared or apprehensive.
The story is well told, and the pictures are captivating and allow the reader to accompany Emma, and her little sister Bella, on her dream journey to discover Heaven and Hell. Emma explores what Heaven is like and meets figures from the Bible along the way including God and Jesus. Younger children will love the beautiful pictures throughout the book which will allow them to take part in the family or class discussion.
I give the book a 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 5 rating. The story is cute and well thought out. It is easy to read and can be read by older children, The book does a great job providing Biblical references throughout the book when it comes to Heaven and how Emma should share her dreams and faith with others and live her life. However, in the Hell section of the book there are no references or passages from the Bible. I would have also loved for Emma to meet a real person from her life in Heaven such as her great-grandparents, making Heaven even more relatable for a young reader who may have lost a loved one.
I can see this book being one that children request be read to them again and again and again. I highly recommend this book not only for parents, but also for Sunday School Teachers and Christian Schools to use in their curriculum. It absolutely should be on every bookshelf shelf across America.
