The advancement of technology is a truly amazing developmental transformation that has enveloped the earth in an effort to leverage man. But according to the Terms of Service: Subject To Change Without Notice by Craig W. Stanfill, the leverage turns out to add more burden and mental stress to man. The author's descriptive narratives were predicated on a possible future in which artificial intelligence will not only replace humans but also be programmed to monitor, track, and govern all of their activities. meaning that man will not be able to live in freedom and privacy; on the contrary, freedom is what man needs most.

Kim, the protagonist of this story, is a young adult who works and lives at the headquarters of an AI company as an automaton trainer. Like every other child, Kim was separated at four years old and fitted with a neural implant that has monitored and influenced her imagination and activities. Despite her level of service in the company and her accomplishments, she experienced mental depression, insomnia, and occasionally a physical emptiness that could not be filled every time she thought about the day of separation, which she exacerbated by drinking excessively in an effort to feel better. She had to renounce all of her accomplishments in order to win freedom.

The author's method of splitting the chapters into three parts, which stands for the three main seasons of the year: spring, summer, and fall, gives the reader the impression that the events occur on an annual basis. This is one of the characteristics of the book that I appreciate. The simplicity of the writing style in English and the conciseness of the storyline are amazing and make it easy for the reader to understand the author's narration. Moreso, the author makes the story more credible and real. The themes of the story include Kim's yearning for freedom, artificial intelligence's total control over man, and the cost of freedom.

After carefully reading this book, I was able to discover and learn so many things about the world's civilization. I understand that the planned outcome of this computer era is to leverage the human race and reduce its stress, but this turns out to even enslave him more as his freedom in every aspect will be denied. I also realized that freedom is a free gift of nature to man, and he cannot live a peaceful and fulfilled life without it.

The story is such an amazing one, and I enjoyed reading it, but the only drawback that I consider a negative aspect is the use of feminine pronouns for both genders, making it difficult to recognize the male gender with the sexual relationship display mentioned. Therefore, I removed a rating star. There are a few profane words used by the author. The book was exceptionally well edited, as there were no typos or grammatical errors within the context of the book. For the above-mentioned reasons, I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars. My recommendation is for those who love fantasy.
