Review of Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids

[Following is a volunteer review of "Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids" by Jemima Paul, Arvind Paul.]
Have you ever thought about going to heaven? In Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul, you and your children can take a small trip there, accompanied by little Emma and her younger sister Bella.
More than a linear story, the book seems to be divided into short stories about the oldest daughter's dreams, in which she visits heaven. In these dreams, the kids meet biblical figures such as Jesus, Mary, Noah, lots of angels, and even God Himself, while learning about the afterlife shown in the Christian bible. Then, in the morning, Emma shares with her parents and sisters what happened in her dream.
The grammar is simple, meaning children can easily understand and follow along with the reading, but I would recommend having their parents there just in case, as some words could be hard for children to read by themselves. The drawings are charming and colorful, which I find ideal for children. They clearly illustrate what’s written on the pages, so they help visualize what is being read.
Frankly, I did not expect that the authors would take such a simple approach. The stories felt pretty repetitive and formulaic, so I felt bored in certain parts. Additionally, the end feels very abrupt; I would have liked a better conclusion and for the authors to write about themselves along with the reasons why they wrote this book. However, these observations come from an adult's perspective, and I do not think children will mind or focus on these aspects as much.
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because I think children raised in a Christian household could enjoy it. It consists of a quick reading and a simple vocabulary. I did not find any mistakes in it, so I assume it was professionally edited. Still, I can’t give it five stars due to the remarks in the previous paragraph. Lastly, because the book is completely derived from Christianity, I recommend it to parents who want to casually introduce their children to this religion and teach them Christian morals.
