[Following is a volunteer review of "The Poison Of Perfection" by Angela Wadley.]
"At its root, perfectionism isn’t really about a deep love of being meticulous. It’s about fear. Fear of making a mistake. Fear of disappointing others. Fear of failure, Fear of success." -Michael Law.
In this book, "The Poison of Perfection," Angela Wadley likens perfectionism to poison because of its toxic effects on people's lives. According to the writer, perfectionism keeps you stuck. It’s filled with self-doubt. And it keeps you from moving forward toward your dreams in any meaningful way. It isn’t something we should glorify or gloss over. Perfection is not about healthy achievement and growth.
The writer explains that perfectionism is used by many people as a shield to protect against the pain of blame, judgment, or shame. Perfectionism is the art of never being satisfied. The book provides some inspiration for striving towards progress and excellence instead of achieving perfection. This may help to avoid negative effects on personal life, dating life, relationships with friends, goals, and careers.
I felt that the writer has a wide range of knowledge and a wealth of experience. The writer delivered the information in a simplified and detailed explanation. She reinforced that with many realistic examples to convey the idea. This amazing book has had a profound impact on me. It offered so much to be learned from it. I also felt that the writer was addressing me as if I were a close person or friend. You come to the conclusion that perfectionism is not a real thing and that the whole matter is that you have to always correct errors, stop expecting perfection in your surroundings, and put your efforts into doing excellent works. This book has given me a new perspective and opened my eyes to a variety of things in life. This book is a guide that has been offered to readers in a sincere desire to achieve balance in their lives.
I found nothing displeasing about this book. I was going to suggest to the writer the first way to solve the problem of perfectionism, which is through spirituality such as prayer and contact with the Creator, who would give peace to the soul. This book seems professionally edited, as I did not find any grammatical errors .
"The Poison of Perfection" by Angela Wadley deserves a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars . It is recommended that people who always seek perfection in themselves, life, and other people read this book. There is a lot to learn.
