There is a very thin line between good health and poor health. The general notion that only the wealthy have access to good health is very wrong and should be corrected. Good health is very accessible to everyone which makes it a priority. The foundation of good health starts with your personal hygiene, your ability to plan ahead, and your willingness to invest in your healthcare. The ability to fulfill, or rather manifest, the purpose of this book lies in the level of attention and interest you put into it.

When you are ignorant about the law, anyone can abuse your fundamental right as a person; the same happens when you are ignorant about your healthcare and the working principles of the healthcare system. You wouldn’t be taken seriously, which is why Barbara Galutia Regis PA-C wrote this memoir and self-help book, Surviving the Business of Healthcare with the intention of bringing light into those dark corners of our healthcare we know nothing about. This book is divided into 29 chapters that alternate between her personal life and healthcare tips. This book is a compendium of various issues and challenges faced by most patients. A lot of them have been highlighted by the author, and I'm sure you won’t have those challenges again after reading this book.

For the fact that this is a first-hand information-filled book, I have no doubt whatsoever that what has been said cannot be proven because it came directly from the source. A lot of people have lost hope in the healthcare system owing to the prejudice they face from most healthcare workers. It's appalling that we still have such unprofessional workers in our healthcare system today, which is why the author has given us tips on how to handle such people. I enjoyed reading this book for several reasons. I loved how the author was brief and straightforward in her writing. The title of the book was like a summary of the book, and it was in line with the content of the book. For these reasons and more, which I can’t list all, I will rate this book five out of five stars.

The fact that the author was a professional and didn’t take her health as a priority was something I didn’t like, though she was being selfless but not at the expense of her health. I also did not like the fact that the photographs weren’t part of the story. There was no need to look at them; this is because I will need to go back in order to match the stories, which would be time-consuming.

Having stated my likes and dislikes, I would like to say that this book was exceptionally well-edited. Due to the nature of this book, I would recommend it to lovers of self-help books, memoirs, and healthcare professionals.
