Review of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

[Following is a volunteer review of "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" by P D Botha.]
"Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow-Evolution and the Noosphere", is a book written by P. D. Botha. This book throws more light on the three time periods in the course of the evolutionary process. According to P. D. Botha, yesterday looked at the evolution from the beginning to where we stand today; today aims to determine where we as humans fit into the process and what our current position is, while tomorrow is an attempt to look to the future so that we can understand the possible consequences of it. The author talked about evolution, explaining how we evolved from apes. He also threw more light on the correlation between the theory of evolution and the creation story of the Bible. Botha explained the noosphere as an area where the human spirit enters and so distinguishes him or her from the animal.
One thing I like about this book is the fact that I could relate to almost everything the author wrote. His words were easy to grasp and understand. As a Christian, I also liked the fact that Botha cited a lot of passages from the Bible to further buttress his point. For example, on page 313, he cited Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 28, and 2 Peter 2 when he was talking about the origin of evil. I loved the messages Botha passed on through this book. He emphasized God’s love for us while reminding us that we should carry out our tasks here on earth properly as we wait for Christ to come again. He also urged us to tell others about our faith. Botha’s writing style was excellent, and he took his time to edit this book, as I found only one error in the entire book.
The only issue I had with this book was that I felt that non-Christians may have been a bit frustrated while reading it because of the constant reminders of Christianity, God, and the Bible.
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I reduced a star because of how uncomfortable I imagined non-Christians were while reading this book. I did not deduct any more stars because of how much I enjoyed reading this book. There was no interruption, as the words were really easy to understand and the errors I came across in the book were few.
I recommend this book to Christians as well as those still finding their way in the faith.
