[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
After their marriage, Kelly and Tom set off to Honduras for their honeymoon. They discover a huge secret that will change their course in Honduras. Kelly and Tom spend the better part of their time in Honduras trying to intercept an already planned mission. Will they save their country?
E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom is an action-packed novel written by Dorothy May Mercer. Kelly is exploring a gift shop in Honduras when she notices a man behind her. She subsequently makes a panicked call to Mike, her brother, but the call ends abruptly. After telling the whole story to her husband, out of curiosity to find out more about the gift shop, Tom checks it out from a distance. As big secrets keep getting revealed as the book goes on, Cynthia Mike's security chief sends two agents to help Kelly and Tom on their mission. What will become of Tom and Kelly's honeymoon? Mike, Kelly, and Tom join forces to stop the propaganda against their own country.
I'm most impressed with the author and how she explained the technology part of this book; she simplified it in such a way that even if you are a novice in technology, you wouldn't struggle to get it. The scene I loved most was the interview with Dr. Peter Kinney when he explained the consequences of a solar flare. Another positive aspect was the excitement this plot brought to its readers.
Since I felt impressed with some parts of this book, I also disliked some of it. The plot was cool and almost unbelievable, but what I didn't like was Tom and Kelly's involvement in a life-threatening situation. Kelly was just a civilian, but the official team in Honduras allowed her to participate. The antagonists were terrible at the beginning and were worse at the end; they failed to spice up this tale with their involvement.
I will rate E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom 4 out of 5 stars. I wouldn't give it a 5 because this book failed to impress me in a handful of situations, but I must say it was more worthy of a 4 because this book almost had everything, such as action, thriller, suspense, and romance. I also examined the editorial aspect of this book and found a few errors. This book was professionally edited.
I will recommend E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom to every lover of an action-packed novel.
