Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a financial piece which educates and highlights the need for financial security; in preparation towards a longer retirement. Longer retirements need to be well thought through, in terms of sustenance and the tools necessary in achieving this. No two persons are the same, some might face this with enthusiasm while others, not so much. It also talks comprehensively about transitioning into new careers at any point of one’s life; working after a ripe age and in a sector you enjoy. Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer engulfs the saying “it’s never too late to start again”; achieve that dream while remaining comfortable, see the world and experience other cultures. Try all the things you’ve only dreamed of; with a longer retirement anything is possible.

I love how he paired the technicalities of this genre with light and quirky comedy. I looked out for it in every chapter. I also commend the author, E. Alan Fleischauer’s initiative to include the links to the tests he mentioned in the read, making it easier for a try out. I appreciate the fact that the chapters were detailed but not too dense. The tone of the piece was relatable. This showed in every chapter of the read. I have a different view after this read, it clearly answers a lot of doubting questions and sinks any fears you might have.

I felt the piece did not command my attention completely; as I would zone out a number of times and be drawn back when comedy was introduced. I had to then trace back my steps, so I could re-read. The technical terms though necessary, were the reason for zoning out occasionally.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. The book was professionally edited. It was well detailed with thought through elaborations. I did not give this book five stars as I occasionally I faded out while reading, but the comedy inclusions brought me back. I didn’t give this book three stars because of the tone used in every chapter of the book. The tone broadened the audience range.

I would recommend this book to a young adult with work aspirations in the finance sector or a quest to lead a well-planned life. Grey adults experiencing mid-life crises and retiring adults who wish to plan ahead, or are gearing up towards their next chapter. I would not recommend this read to very young teenagers or children as it weighs heavily on the technical side and might be a bit confusing, not forgetting curious minds with interests in building a generational empire.
