Dreffin begins her journey with a detailed description of the preparations she makes for her voyage. She outlines the safety equipment she installs on her boat, along with the navigation and communication systems she uses to stay in touch with other vessels and the land. 3. Some readers may find the author’s romanticized portrayal of life aboard a sailboat to be unrealistic or even naive.

4. The book does not address the potential dangers or challenges that may arise when living at sea.
