Ghoulem Berrah was also called “Aziz” by his mother. Aziz was a young Algerian whose goal was to fight for his country’s independence. He officially became an activist at the university level. Berrah’s mom was married off to an older man when she was a teenager. According to Ghoulem Berrah, brides and grooms often do not meet until the wedding night. Berrah’s mom never had an identification card as she didn’t have the course to travel out of the village. Aziz's mother wanted him to have the best education. Aziz's stepbrother wanted him to become a teacher but he preferred to be a medical doctor. The fight against discrimination and racism has always been a tough one. Right from elementary school, Aziz had always hated to be in gatherings where racists were present. Despite Aziz moms’ support and love for him, she passed away before he became a professional medical doctor.

A Dream For Peace is an inspirational autobiography by Ghoulem Berrah. It talks about Algeria and other French colonies’ struggles for independence. The author fell in love with Titi but her parents didn’t give their consent because of their religious differences. One of the things I liked most in this book was the author’s dedication to promoting a more in-depth understanding of the concept. Ghoulem Berrah remained steadfast in his belief that peace was attainable. The storyline is quite emotional as well.

I liked several things about this book. A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a very intriguing novel. One of the lessons I learned from this book is the effect of a mother’s love and support on a child’s development. The author's writing style mesmerized me; I give kudos to his writing prowess. A Dream For Peace is educational as I also learned new pieces of information about the medical profession. I like the fact that the author spiced the book’s pages with beautiful pictures. It was effortless to understand the storyline.

There were a few things I disliked about this book; it is too lengthy and it caused boredom at some points. Aside from that, I had the opportunity to build my vocabulary with the words used in this book. I enjoyed A Dream For Peace; it was insightful and inspiring.

The publishers did great work proofreading the novel. The book was professionally edited; I found no errors in it. As a result, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend A Dream For Peace by Ghoulem Berrah to mothers, autobiography fans, politicians, medical doctors, activists, and lovers of history.
