[Following is a volunteer review of "A Dream For Peace" by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah.]
Freedom fighting has always been a notable deed, and freedom fighters are heroes without capes. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is no exception to the many freedom fighters the world has encountered.
A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a 631-page book. It contains 17 chapters. Berrah was born in Algeria into a Muslim home. He was a diplomat and a human rights activist. He taught and lectured in China and Spain. He was detained in Spain for engaging in political activities. He put his life at stake for peace and justice for human rights. There were a lot of challenges in his way.
Was he able to overcome these challenges? How did he overcome them? What virtues did he exhibit during his lifetime that made him notable? I will not give away any spoilers, but I suggest you grab a copy of this book for a motivational read.
It is amazing what people go through to ensure justice prevails. I will forever hold Dr. Ghoulem Berrah in high regard because of his deeds for humanity. He was a peace-loving and humble man. He promoted a world full of unity and void of hate. This book richly details the life of Berrah. It explores his life from innocence to experience. The struggles and moves he made for peace were clearly defined and elaborated. I like the lessons contained in this book. Berrah’s life is worthy of emulation. He was a patriotic man who sacrificed most of his life for his country. He was also tolerant of other religions. His wife was a Catholic, yet he accompanied her to her religious activities. I loved how proud and affectionate he was towards his wife. It showed that he was also a loving husband.
This non-fiction book was educative. It gave me a deeper insight into what many activists go through in a bid to ensure justice. It also taught me to be humble. Berrah’s colleagues held him in high admiration because of this virtue. It shows that it pays to be humble despite one’s achievements. I enjoyed every part of this book. I was teary-eyed in some sections. It shows that the book was engaging. Though it was lengthy, it was worth the time. I found nothing to dislike in the book. The book was exceptionally well-edited. For these reasons, I believe a rating of four out of four stars is justified.
I recommend this book to readers interested in political and human rights activities. This book would also serve as a motivation for those who feel inspired to do great things.
