A coming-of-age story of a man trying to find his place in the seventies. Steve is on his way to becoming a lawyer when a police shooting makes him reconsider his career path and his notions about War, Justice, and everything he believes in.
Wild World by Peter S. Rush is a captivating and inspiring story about a young man who actively tries to make a change in the world while he navigates love, sex, corruption, and the agitated social situation of that era.

What I love about this book is how History intertwines with fiction. The characters are living their lives amidst many historical events which, of course, have an impact on their development throughout the story. It is fascinating how the author keeps the reader interested in both situations. You are eager to know what is going on in Steve´s life and, at the same time, you can´t wait to read more about the corrupted world the characters live in.

On the other hand, what I did not like about this book can be summed up in one word: Roxy. She is the most basic, predictable, and annoying character I have ever encountered. I could not relate to her struggles nor sympathize with her life story. Besides, I found her relationship with Steve completely unrealistic. The author did a great job with every character but her. She was poorly written and an utter disappointment.
In addition, if you are keen on slow-burn romances, this may be a little bit straightforward for you.

However, the fact that I profoundly dislike one of the characters is overcome by every other aspect of this book. It is well-written and it has been professionally edited, which made reading it a hundred times more enjoyable. The author certainly has a gift for words, so you fall for every line, page after page.
This is not another Vietnam War book. Here, Steve´s fight becomes your fight. And you get the opportunity to see the war through a different set of eyes. That is why I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend it to people who like History and enjoy seeing things from a different point of view. If you are in search of a thought-provoking story, this is the book for you. Nevertheless, if you are not comfortable with a few detailed sex scenes and bad words, find something else to read.
