The agony, hurt, oppression, and disgrace of the French and Jews are revealed in this tale. The protagonist of this tale is Miles Barnard, a young physician who has been assigned to perform his duties in France. He has been given the responsibility of serving as the general hospital's medical officer. He disapproves of how the military treats its medical personnel. Because he is aware of corruption inside the military, he makes every effort to uphold his standards and provide the necessary service. He is a human superhero, a support system for when things go tough. Additionally, Miles was a person of integrity who spoke up for what was right.

This tale demonstrates the value of friendship, the beauty of French creativity, and the agony of heartbreak and remaining with a person you don't love. The thrill of discovering real love and one's authentic self. This book was incredible; it was incredibly detailed and educational. I adore how the splendor of art has been brought to life. I cherished the understated romance that Miles and Ingrid had, as well as their obvious close friendship. William H. Coles enlivened the past in this fast-paced novel. It was interesting; I could share and sympathize with the experience of suffering encountered by the French and Jewish people. I also adored how the characters in this narrative always went after their aspirations in spite of the obstacles. And I really adore the sense of affection and family ties he created in the narrative.

The multiple murders of innocent individuals in various places was a genuinely horrifying moment and event that made me feel sadness and sympathy for the characters. It displays the heroic attempts made by people to savage their own people and their own land, as well as how far man may be driven by his thirst for power and greed. The sacrifices and losses that people underwent in an effort to achieve peace were depicted. William continued by exposing the wickedness that occurs in the military as well as the part that politics plays in it.

Tour of Duty by William H. Coles receives a 3 out of 4 star rating from me because, despite my interest in it, there were several errors and it needed further editing. Strong language was also employed in this book, but it didn't stop me from enjoying it. The value of understanding French is also stressed in the book.

I will recommend this book to people who appreciate history and the arts since I believe that its use of strong language makes it inappropriate for young children.
