[Following is a volunteer review of "A Dream For Peace" by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah.]
Our thinking brings about change, and everyone must desire to bring about change wherever they find themselves. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, in his book, A Dream For Peace, gives an account of several events that occurred in his life. The book contains themes of marriage and love.
This 565-paged book is a memoir of the author. He was born into a humble and strong family. His father was a jeweler, and he lost his mother while studying in France. Gaining admission into the university of Columbia meant he had to be separated from his love, Antoinette. Berrah met with several dignitaries during his life journey. He passed through various hurdles in his call for change but did not lose sight of what he desired. What motivated Berrah to stay focused? How was he able to overcome the challenges that came his way? Read up to find out.
The book is divided into seventeen chapters. The author's writing technique is thorough and engaging. The author included graphics in several aspects of the book. This was thoughtful because it enabled the reader to understand specific information in the book. Also, the pictures helped bring out the reality of the events portrayed by the author. The author's transparency is evident in how he opens his shortcomings alongside his achievements. For these reasons, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
The simplicity of the author is one of the things I love about this book. It helped me see politics in a new light. Before reading this book, I had no interest in anything related to politics, but after reading this book, I gained more interest in politics. One of the things I learned was that I could not keep complaining about things not being done right in the nation's affairs if I was not ready to play my part. I also understood there is more to know about building a reputable nation.
I enjoyed reading the love story of Berrah and Titi. It inspired me to embrace patience. Despite the hindrances they faced, they endured. There is nothing I dislike about the book. I encountered some grammatical and punctuation errors while reading the book, but they did not impede my reading process.
In conclusion, I recommend this book to individuals who desire to be impactful in places that matter. Also, this book will interest individuals who love politics. Readers will be enlightened on what true love entails by reading this book.
