A Dream for Peace is a memoir showing the life of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. He was a political activist, human rights activist, doctor, scientist, and professor. He fought for the freedom of his country Algeria. The book discussed Dr. Ghoulem Berrah’s life, family, and achievements. It also discussed all the people he met, especially President Houphouët, the former president of Côte d’Ivoire. He was one of the greats who helped Africa get to where it is today. This book highlighted the trials and tribulations faced by third-world countries when trying to free themselves from the shackles of the colonisers and the role patriots like Dr Ghoulam Berrah play in the fight for freedom. The main characters in the book also did well to highlight the remarkable similarities between Islam and Christianity.

What I really loved about this book was Dr. Ghoulem’s ability to care for his people to the extent of risking his life for them. Another thing I loved about the book was that the editing was well done. The editor had really taken his time to edit the book so perfectly that I couldn't find a single error in it. The book was very easy to understand because the language was very simple, which made the book very enjoyable. The characters in the book showed great courage and patriotism. A Dream for Peace is very inspirational, especially since it is a real-life story of Dr. Ghoulam Berrah.

There was nothing I disliked about the book. I would say the book was exemplary in every way, from the beginning to the end. Dr. Ghoulam Berrah's passion for the freedom of his people in Algeria and Africa at large, shown by his diligent work alongside leaders of countries and other passionate Africans, was absolutely inspiring.

Since it was a delightful read and there were no mistakes in it, I rate A Dream for Peace 4 out of 4 stars. The book was exceptionally well edited, and it exposed a lot of the struggle for independence in the entire African continent. It is always great to document experiences like this to educate the next generation on what our heroes went through to get us to where we are today.

I recommend this book to everyone hoping to leave a good legacy after they are gone. We all need to realise that we can do and be everything we want within the short time we have to live here; all we need is courage. I also recommend it to people who wish to discover their purpose in life. People hoping to learn a lot about the history of Africa's independence from the colonisers should also read this book.

The good doctor is obviously also an icon. It's beautiful to know that his life was well documented. Generations to come need to read about him and appreciate all his sacrifices.

When they talk about 'the labour of our heroes past' Dr Ghoulam is definitely one of those heroes being referred to. He did a lot for Africa and Algeria.

I'm not a huge fan of memoirs but Dr Ghoulam's story is too compelling to ignore. An African true and true. That's the stuff greatness is made of.

Risking your life for your people isn't something everyone is capable of. Dr Ghoulam is worthy of a lot of accolades for his many achievements.
