Review of A Dream For Peace

[Following is a volunteer review of "A Dream For Peace" by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah.]
A Dream for Peace is a memoir that chronicles the life of the author, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, and his contribution to bringing peace and freedom to humanity.
Dr. Berrah was born in the north-eastern part of Algeria while the country was still under French colonialism. Displeased with the way his people were being treated, he decided to commit to the cause of fighting for the liberation of his people. Starting from his university days, he began to join different student groups and organizations who have the same mindset of fighting for the freedom of their country. Though he had to deal with constant discrimination, harassment, opposition, racism, and imprisonment; he stayed true to his cause and did not deter in his fight for freedom.
Although this book is quite long, it is inspiring and informative. The writer creates awareness and gives a detailed record of the events that occurred during the period of colonization in his era. There are some qualities portrayed by Dr. Berrah that a reader can learn from too. An example of these qualities is how he was able to balance his academics with his political career. Also, his tolerance for other religions and castes coupled with his leadership and selfless qualities are notable. Another thing I enjoyed while reading this book is the inclusion of pictorial evidence of events, research works, and certificates by the author. These pictures give validation to his accomplishments.
Apart from the story being lengthy, there is nothing I disliked about the book. Considering the author's determination and doggedness, the book gives its reader a sense of purpose. A good example of this was when the author had to choose between his cause and a bright future in the field of science. What was his choice and how did he accomplish his goals? You'll find answers to these questions as you embark on a journey for peace with the writer by reading this book.
As long as this book is, I could only find a single topological error in the book; that is to say, the book was professionally edited. With these reasons and those mentioned above in mind, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I'd recommend this book to readers interested in history, colonialism, and revolution. Also, readers interested in learning one or two things from other people's biographies can do well to read this book too.
