A Dream For Peace is a memoir by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. In this book, the writer shared the stories of his adventures to rescue his country from deep-rooted racism and colonialism.

He was born right into a family from Algeria, where he grew up and noticed how his people and other Algerians suffered from immigrants in their country. This troubled him so much and ended in him harboring plans to release his country's people. He excelled in his high school exams, and this educational fulfilment paved the way for the several scholarships he acquired, in addition to his studies in different countries. While studying, he collaborated with numerous bodies, and that helped him attain his mission. Any questions you may have will be answered if you read the book.

I admired the fact that the author's mom played a great role in his life by being there for him because, in his formative years, the author's father passed on before he attained maturity, and the most important person that took over his upbringing for a while became his mom; this confirmed the volume of affection she had for him. Making plans to achieve something is pointless if you give up along the way. The key to being celebrated in the long run is to persevere until you get what you desire. The author encountered plenty of setbacks in his quest for the liberty of his people. However, he did not give in to the pressure. He continued until his people experienced true happiness.

This book taught me that communication can move in the direction of restoring peace in a country or amongst human beings; fixing issues does no longer have to be completed through combating or conducting war. The writer became someone who believed in the use of dialogue to approach issues, and he correctly used this to assist different countries, other than his own, and they turned out to be united. Another aspect of this book that I cherished was the images incorporated into it, which gave me a better understanding of the subject. The exceptional quality of the images additionally kept my interest piqued.

There was no issue in this book that I disliked, as it was easy to understand, comprehensive, and professionally edited. There were also a lot of lessons that I learned from it. All these reasons motivated my choice to award it an excellent rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

This book will be appropriate for enthusiasts of non-fiction books, books that deal with racism and wars, and human beings that love political tales because the content of this book could be appealing to them.

The book is an important testimony in a very important period for the development of postcolonial Africa, especially at the level of high diplomacy. Thanks for the good review.

I think it’s interesting that Dr. Berrah was formed so much by his mother and then turned into so much of a hero to so many.
