Sarah Vail's Snow Country Lane is an exciting action-packed novel revolving around the heinous crime of child abduction and trafficking. The main protagonist is Assistant District Attorney Tim McAndrews, an able lawyer who is ready to cross any line to keep his family safe and protect the vulnerable. Having peered into the lives of the unfortunate who suffer in the hands of the rich, powerful and untouchable, he inadvertently gets caught up in a child trafficking case involving powerful individuals and which comes uncomfortably close to his doorstep. Relying on his closest friends, his wife Dani as well as dubious individuals around him, he has to step up into a role he has never held before to crack this crucial case.

Right off the bat, the characterization of Tim draws the reader in fully. His dedication to ensuring fairness and justice is admirable. This paired with his dedication to his wife completes the picture of an ideal member of the society. Vail takes time to carefully craft each trait of each individual as the story flows, with the result of complete characters with proper storylines. I also particularly liked how the book is full of details of nearly every key object. For instance, the description of snowmobiles is very specific and nuanced. This enhances the reading experience and it's fun when these specifications play a significant role in the story.

Snow Country Lane is a book that strongly demands to be read in one sitting. It's fun and interesting thanks to how the story flows smoothly from chapter to chapter, capturing one's attention throughout.

My sole qualm with the book is its political aspect. Considering the characters involved, politics is expected, hence this is rather subjective. This made me see some characters in a particular light throughout the book despite having nothing to do with their character traits.

I would give Snow Country Lane a rating of 4 out of 4 . The amount of quality action that persists throughout the book would capture any kind of reader's attention. This, added to the strong characters in play, makes it an excellent work of art. Furthermore, the book is properly edited with the exception of a few uncounted errors.

Snow Country Lane contains some strong language plus some sexual content hence is not suitable for younger readers. Also, the book involves some politics, and as a result, not every individual will be inclined to agree with some of the political views expressed in the book. Lastly, there is a comment made by one of the characters that might not bode well with all Muslim readers. Nonetheless, Snow Country Lane is a fun and exemplary read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun catchy book that can be read in a single sitting.
