The Watchmaker’s Doctor by G. M. T. Schuilling is the first novella in the Erase and Rewind series which is a new adult science fiction novel. It talks about the pre-set-up plot about Anaya, a doctor by profession who lives an unhappy life in her mid-thirties. During her routine check up on her first patient, Gregory, old life and retired watchmaker, she faces an unusual situation that allows her to go back in time and change her biggest mistake which she had regretted all her life till now. She thinks of it as an opportunity to redo her life by going back in time and living it rightfully and honestly. Anaya does not want to drop out of college this time and however might be the circumstances she intends to pursue her college. She heals her relationship with her family, her friends and her love life through this second chance at life. But as she makes choices for herself and puts her happiness first on her priority list, her friends' lives are getting messed up. Anaya wonders if her choice is affecting her friends' and family's lives. She questions her decision in taking a second chance at life.

The idea of time travel has always fascinated me and also compelled me to read this book in the first place. The author had made a compelling short story with apt narrative and writing skills. The word-building around the protagonist is quick and easy to connect to. Each chapter makes us reach the end of the final page of the book and the pace of the plot was on point keeping the reader on their toes.

There is nothing I disliked about the book except the ending of the story. This is because I felt that the story was put to an abrupt end without connecting to a proper reason. Anaya was pulled out of her twenties all of the sudden back to her old thirties life. And the reason was Greg wanted to test some theory that I didn't understand at all.

So based on all the above-mentioned points I would like to rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I did not find any grammatical or writing errors and it was exceptionally well-edited. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it without worrying about any mistakes or errors.

I would like to recommend this book to all Sci-Fi genre enthusiasts who have their interest piqued in time travel stories. It can also be picked by anyone who wants to read something short and quick in this genre.
