[Following is a volunteer review of "Time Is Eternity" by Annette G. Anders.]
Time is Eternity is book three of The Full Circle Series by Annette G. Anders. It is a sweet friends to lovers story. Luca and Joe are both 30 somethings who have been friends for years. Ther are now the only two in their friends' group that are not yet married. Luca finally starts to see how much he likes Jo but is he too late? Joe is starting to see another man and Luca is about to pack up and move to a completely different city. Can they pull together after a mistake that leads them both into a tragedy? Jo struggles to keep her head above water, as Covid and life starts to drag her down.
I liked how the author gave Joe a great deal of self-drive. Some romance stories forget to give the leading lady goals, over than “get the guy”. She wants to start her own yoga studio and is constantly working towards that goal. Even when sometimes this leads Jo into making bad choices. Which makes her feel more human as a character.
This brings us to what I didn’t like, the author likes to reference the previous books in the series. Unfortunately, this makes it hard for readers who have not read them to keep up with the story. An example of this is the extended cast feels a little too big. They have four friends not including family members. They all have different backstories, referenced in the book. Unfortunately, this becomes a little confusing. The author also on occasion will dump information in the form of long monologues. At first, I thought this was a trait of Luca’s. He is the first character to do this but then other characters started to do the same thing. The information became a little overwhelming at times.
I am giving Time is Eternity 3 out of 4 stars. It is a good book with an interesting take on the friends to lovers trope. I am tacking one stare off because though the book is a part of a series, it should be able to stand on its own as a good read.
If you are a fan of the Full Circle Series or Annette G then you will enjoy this book. I also think that if enjoy books like “Bookshop by the Sea” by Denise Hunter, this book is your next read. This book may also interest you if you like yoga and new-age spiritualism.
