Have you just sat back and wondered what it is like to climb a mountain?. How do many mountaineers manage to climb through the harsh terrains of the seven highest mountains of the world?. The Altitude Journals, written by David J. Mauro, is a seven-year-long journey that he has taken, one which he describes being from the lowest point in his life to the highest point In Earth. So just what prompted him to make such a life-changing decision at the age of forty-four years old? Well, it all started when he was watching the Olympics, and felt that he too should try to do something for his country, hence he tried ax-throwing which did not work very well as the very first day he started training, he ended up giving up. He went on to fall in love with Jenny, his wife and even had children but things did not last very long and they fell out of love. Getting a divorce is not something that he would have wanted for himself as he did not want to follow in the footsteps of his parents as they too had broken marriage. One day he was presented with an opportunity to go mountain climbing on Mount Denali, and whilst being in the midst of a divorce, used this to get over the depression he was falling into. But mountain climbing is as easy ad it seems as he now has to go through rigorous training to be to succeed and summit on his climb. So the question to be asked is, would he be able to successfully climb the dangerous terrains of Mount Denali?. Would the pull of the six other mountains of the world call to him or would he abandon his journey during his first trek up Mount Denali? Follow David on his journey of becoming a mountain climber and find out whether he would succeed or fail in his quests.

This book is a real page-turner and is intriguing to read. It goes to show that no matter how old you are if you put your mind to something you surely will succeed in it.

There was nothing to dislike about this book. It shows how a man overcame his struggles and put his fears aside to succeed in his goals.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. It contains mild profanity.

This book is highly recommended for young adults and to all those that think that they are too old to accomplish their dreams and goals.
