[Following is a volunteer review of "Rise of the Savior" by Antoine Bonner.]
Rise of the Savior by Antoine Bonner is a fantasy novel that describes the life of a teenage girl. Amanda is an 18-year-old girl. She is the first child of her parents and Saira, her younger sister who is 6-year-old. Amanda is a normal teenage girl who wants to leave home for university but that changed when she was involved in an accident with Logan, her father. After the accident, she noticed that she was chosen by her deity to become the acolyte of truth. As the acolyte of truth, she is destined to save the world from destruction and Saira helped her to join the acolyte secret agency where she met her friend Kid, and other acolytes. With the help of a few acolytes and Saira, she was able to face Jamie, the acolyte of death.
I enjoyed reading this book because it's a nice fantasy novel and I like the subject matter of the novel. I love the main character of this novel, Amanda. Although she did not plan to be a hero when faced with the responsibility of protecting her sister after the demise of her parents, she found the courage and protected the world from destruction. I also liked the portrayal of Saira, even though she's cold, she encouraged her sister and helped her fight the acolyte of death without fears. She also saved her sister when she died. This book was professionally edited.
This book is lovely and the storyline is amazing but the plot is confusing. At the beginning of the story, it seems like Jamie and Jean, Amanda's mother were friends, and they worked at the same place but later on, it's like they don't know each other. Also, Antoine Bonner's narration of some of the plots and characters was not detailed. For example, the acolyte's secret agency, deity, Kundalini, and so on. I think if these characters and plot were detailed, It would make the book more interesting.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. This is because even though the book is interesting, it has some confusing plots that were not detailed.
I recommend this book to teens and young adults who love fantasy novels. This novel would not be enjoyed by people who love to read detailed books and those who love to connect with characters in the book while reading.
