Health Tips, Myths, And Tricks by Morton E Tavel is a detailed and practical non-fiction book that addresses many health-related issues. Dr. Tavel with decades of experience in medicine has compiled an eclectic publication. Notably, Dr. Tavel is a physician specialist in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases.

Dr. Tavel addresses many questions. For example, red meat: should you curtail it? Should you consider buying and consuming organic food? Medical tests and yearly check ups: are they really necessary?

In section one, there are many health tips that can help us make better decisions regarding treatment, diet, exercise and the information we get from the media. For example, there are tips on nasal allergies. In sections two and three numerous myths and tricks are analyzed from a scientific perspective. For example, Dr. Tavel addresses false cures.

There were numerous positive aspects of this book. I appreciated the approach the author took in addressing specific issues. His medical opinion would have been sufficient, however, he gave the scientific basis that supported his opinion. He even challenged certain statements that were made by other well-known public figures. Dr. Tavel was direct in his approach to challenging the various myths and tricks. There was a certainty with which he spoke.

I appreciated the many health tips that he gave. There was one that was particularly memorable and the scientific basis was eye-opening for me. In particular, he gave advice on the importance of preparation with respect to avoiding health hazards associated with red meats. The temperature at which red meat is prepared can affect one's health because of the chemical changes that can occur.

I appreciated that Dr.Tavel highlighted a number of myths. He also highlighted the tricks used in the marketing of certain products. He also gives the scientific basis why many of these products will not work. I appreciated the warning he gave with respect to the danger of consuming some of these so-called natural remedies with dubious concoctions. For example, he exposed that probiotics was a mixed bag with benefits and risks. Overall, I appreciated that the book was informative and that it offered practical advice.

There were no notable negatives for me. I found the book to be well-written with sound scientific principles.

I gave the book a 4 out of 4 rating because it was well-written and offered practical advice based on sound scientific principles.

I think people who like health-related topics should find this book to be an excellent choice.

Humans need to be guided, especially when it relates to health. A lot of sicknesses today are linked to what we consume. I believe this book will be a guide on how to improve our health. Thanks for the wonderful review.

Myths are usually the ones that make your health deteriorate rather than improve, we should turn to professionals when it comes to medical things. I think this book would help readers out when it comes to identifying myths from the truth. Thank you for the review!
