Creating Literary Stories: A Fiction Writer's Guide by William H. Coles is a book that contains guidelines on how to write fiction stories properly and correctly. This book consists of 2 major parts. The first consists of chapters on the structure of a good work of fiction and its content. Such as what are the characters in the story, narrative, dialogue, conflict, humor, scene by scene, timing, and why most literary fiction fails. The second part is the implementation of the first part which contains chapters to help create a work of fiction, how to apply the structure of fiction work that has been described in the first part.

The positive aspects of this book are many. As the title suggests, this book is a guide for writing fiction stories so that they are successful. The author is very detailed and structured in presenting the information in this book. Each chapter has a very amazing focus, the author really gives every step that must be done in the journey of making fiction stories. What kind of character will be built, the story that will be raised, the plot, what conflicts are suitable based on the character, etc. In addition, the author also provides examples that are very easy to understand. The author gives an example from a common story and then transforms it into the form he exemplifies. Such as the story about Little Red Riding Hood whose story is based on the importance of the information the author wants to convey. Because the story is common and we all know, so it's very easy to find the differences that the author is trying to convey so that the fictional story that he wants to produce is better. This book is very useful for people who are just starting to make fiction stories, because of the basic and principal things in this book.

There are no negative aspects to this informative book. Everything is professionally edited. I didn't find any typos or grammar errors in this book.

This book deserves to get a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. Because this book really opens up knowledge about writing fiction stories. Each chapter in sequence and detail is very helpful for improving writing skills. Other than that the tips from this book are very easy to apply directly to our own stories.

I recommend this book for people who are learning to write fiction and want to improve their writing skills.
