Hallowed ground an interesting story by Cindy Ziperman of a strong female protagonist Samantha or Sam, tired of frustration created by her career as a Nurse and her strained relationship with her mother, forced into looking at her reality and making a change perhaps for the better. After a calculated decision she relocates to her Uncles farm outside Franklin, where she has happy childhood memories in hopes of find peace and tranquility. She then meets an interesting man, Thomas Jonathan Carter or TJ, which leads to Sam to have a hard look at some of the decisions she has made.

The book is well written and easy to understand and relate with. The Main character is strong and interesting. The historical matter used in the book makes for and additional level of entertainment. There is a good romantic aspect to the story.

There are some definite triggers in the book; such as attempted rape, which could be dissuading to some readers.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars; the book is well edited and keeps the readers interest throughout the book. There are romantic elements to the book as well as action elements, along with historical facts. The plot twists are good and not obvious until time for them to unravel. Overall I enjoyed reading this story but there are some spelling and grammatical errors. I enjoyed the wittiness of Sam.

I would recommend this book to adult readers as there is explicit content and strong language. I would also recommend this book to the reader that enjoys romantic, action and or detective books as these aspects are well written in this book and combined make for a very interesting and enjoyable read. I would not recommend any one that is trigger by; rape or attempted rape; abuse or sexual harassment read this book.
