You're right. With such a gradation of stories, from the lowest quality to the best, I think that the attention of readers would be constant and the overall impression would be much better. Thanks for stopping by.

It's a shame about the fact that not all part of this book were equal in quality and I think that puts me off reading it but thank you for such an informative review!

I agree. Also, in one of the stories the protagonist bears his name throughout the story, except on a few occasions when he is called by another name. Such small mistakes diminished the value of the book. But like I said, it's a rough diamond. Thanks for stopping by.

I enjoyed reading your amazing and detailed review of this book. However, I believe due to the poor coherence of the second half, I'd give it a pass. But thank you for putting up a great work!

Unfortunately, this is so, although the book really has a lot of good parts. Thanks for stopping by.

There is a lot going on in this book. Character development, and important themes about life seems to keep it interesting. Short stories are not my cup of tea, but I wouldn't mind giving this book a try. Thanks for a great review, I know exactly what to expect from the book because of it.

The stories originated in the first half of the 70's and bring the spirit of that time, which gives a special charm. Thanks for stopping by.

It's too bad the second half of the book didn't quite live up to the first half. Still, I do enjoy books with well-developed characters, so I might have to take a look at it. Thanks for your interesting and well-written review!

I have noticed in the few short-story collections I’ve read that the novella is often the most underdeveloped story in the book. Your review was a work of art. Thank you for your take.

I like short stories, especially when they have a satisfying end. Thanks for the insightful review. I might pick this up.
