I have heard many tales of vampires and werewolves but certainly not Iridescents. They are thirsty, blood-sucking predators concealed in human form. After the death of Donja's father, she and her best friend Debbie turned to a gothic lifestyle. Her mother decided to remarry, and they had to move to Michigan to start a new life. Donja was upset and even more when she had to temporarily share a room with Makayla, her stepsister.

Makayla in pulling Donja out of her goth to glamour, took her to a club. There she met Torin Marcini, a radiant Iridescent disguised as a very handsome man. He noticed something strange about Donja's blood type, and they instantly felt a connection. He was battling with the desires of his heart and his hunger for her blood. What happens when a very powerful and evil Iridescent Chases after Donja, forcing her family to make very hard decisions that could change their lives forever?

I really enjoyed this book so much that I almost wished it wouldn’t end. Chasing the Red Queen by Karen Glista, though an intense romantic novel, is also an action-packed suspense thriller that kept me on edge. You could never guess what the turn out of events would be. The author placed me at the bird's-eye view seeing through multiple characters. One of my favorite things about this book is the attention the author gave to character development and evolution. They seemed real and were very relatable.

I felt the author made every character a hero at some point, mostly because of the actions they took and the decisions they had to make. the author also gave me a chance to see things from their own point of view. The plot also was well organized and structured, and I liked that the author gave this story a happy ending. Frankly speaking, there was nothing I disliked about this book. I found just two minor errors and it did not interfere with my reading flow. I could really see the connection the title had with the book when I got to the center of the book, which was a wonder at the beginning.

Since this book was professionally edited and I enjoyed the story so much, I would happily give it a 4 out of 4 star ratings. I would recommend this book to teenagers and adults especially those who enjoy stories of vampires and werewolves. I would also like to state that this book contains some erotic scenes and profane languages that may not be suitable for all to read.

Iridescents are new to me, too! I like the way you describe the author's ability to keep you immersed in the story. The mix of romance and action keep things moving. I wonder what path Donja will take? Great review!

The summary reminds me a lot of the Twilight Saga, with the smell of Bella's blood being special and Edward fighting the urge to suck her blood even though he loves her. Of course, it is about vampires and not Iridescents; although, they sound similar. It sounds quite intriguing. Thanks for your wonderful review!

Uhhh! I always avoided vampire, werewolves and iridescent based books. But this one is laced with romance. What do I do now? Read it! Haha. Beautiful review.
