A hard worker from the time he was a young child, Jorge Newbery became a successful entrepreneur. When major risks were paying off for him, he decided to drop out of school and push his businesses forward. By working hard and taking big risks, Jorge rose quickly to the top of everything that he did. Soon he set his sights on the real estate market. He would buy up rental properties that needed work and fix them. He would then either sell the fixed property or keep the property in his name to have money coming in. This method was going great until an ice storm hit his newest investment property.

Woodland Meadows was starting to become a great property and it should have been another homerun for Jorge, but when an ice storm hurt a large part of the property, he knew fixing everything wouldn’t be easy. Jorge worked with the insurance company, contractors and the city to fix the property, but it seemed as if everyone was out to make sure he failed. Woodland Meadows took every penny Jorge had and it was still not fixed. Jorge had to leave with no money left to his name. Woodland Meadows is still his biggest regret.

From that failure, Jorge learned that the only person he could rely on to help him was himself. No one had the “magic bullet” for him. This is what lead him to start his last business. Jorge has started helping people tackle their debt. Burn Zones by Jorge Newbery is an insight into his life, from the time he started a paper route when he was a child to the present.

I enjoyed reading Burn Zones because of how inspirational Jorge Newbery’s life has become. It gave me a new insight into how to push myself further and keep working toward my goals, even though this is not a self-help book. The book was professionally edited. I found very few mistakes, but that is not surprising when you read the book. When Jorge Newbery sets his mind to something, there is nothing that will stand in his way. There was nothing that I disliked about this book. What I did enjoy the most was when Jorge talked about his career in music. I had never thought about a teenager managing bands before.

My rating for Burn Zones is 4 out of 4 stars. I gave it this rating because there are few mistakes and the book was interesting. This book could be read as a teenager or as an adult and still help the reader. There were no curse words, so it is appropriate for all ages and religions.
