Review of My Trip to Adele by R I Alyaseer and A I Alyaseer.
This book is a good romantic novel done in collusion two authors and rooted in the amazing music of Adele. I have to admit that I am not a fan of Adele's music but many of her lyrics are pure poetry and the authors did a great job blending them into the story. They bring to life three separate couples and different struggles they face. The dynamics of the choices each individual has in life show the precarious nature of relationships, love, God, culture, and traditions. They bring this book into your life and touch on many personal issues we all face from time to time.
The story told brings a freshness of learning the aspects of each character's life and thinking while your mine travels from Jordan, Morocco, Italy, and Las Vegas all while aimed at Verona, Italy and the Adele Concert. The authors do a good job of vividly describing the exotic and erotic culture of the Marrakesh, a holdover of centuries past. They fluidly develop characters, their lifestyles, desires, and flaws.
This book doesn't bring you a hero but does bring three distinct situations to cheer for. You may choose Elias who goes in search of lost love yet abstinence. You may choose Nadia and the oppression of the male-dominated society of Jordan ruled by culture and traditions. Last you may choose a couple, half-heartedly, trying to save their marriage. You might even cheer for Malika and her break thru to leave Morocco. The challenges of love, lust, freedom of dominance, faith, and family are there for your own judgment.
The story itself is easily read and well-edited without profanity. As good as the book is, it is not my type of story but I have to give it 3 out of 4 stars.
