Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is the seventh book in the Inca Book Series. It's a standalone children's book written by R.F. Kristi and illustrated by Jorge Valle.

It’s a short book with 104 pages, published by Kindle Direct Publishing. The book introduces us to four cats, a human mom and aunt Florence with the help of a family tree. On the introductory page, there are pictures of every member of the Inca & Company Detective Agency with their portfolios.

Inca, the Siberian kitty, and her detective co-workers are in Sri Lanka with their human mom, where they are spending the summer holiday. While holidaying, Inca overhears the case of a stolen antique (sword), and other valuable items from the main museum in Colombo. Being the snoopy Siberian kitty that Inca is, she makes it the duty of her agency to recover the stolen items, especially the sword. The agents who engaged in this recovery mission are Inca, the gang leader, Fromage and Cara, her siblings, Charlotte, their loving hamster friend, and Terrance, the detective doggy. The gang gets help from their new friends who stay close to their cottage: Meena, an elephant, and Rani, a little turtle.

I totally enjoyed reading this book. It’s a very entertaining and well-written book. It’s also easy to read and comprehend. Children between the ages of 7-14 will find this book engaging because of the simple language the author used in portraying Inca’s escapades. The steps Inca and her gang followed to set out clues in apprehending the culprits of the mysterious theft at the museum were brilliant. Inca’s depiction of the places they visited was vivid.

The excellent illustrations of Jorge Valle added to the brilliance of this book. The characters in this book can be role models for children who read this book. Serendipity Mystery traverses themes like courage, friendship, and selflessness. As an adult, I also enjoyed this book. I didn’t notice any error, which means the book is well-edited and deserves a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

Inca – the leader of the team is a female cat. I think this book would be great for little girls to read. Nice review!
