I'm Swimming in the Toilet...PLEASE DON'T FLUSH! by Len Foley is a delightful children's picture book about a frog who wanders indoors searching for a way to cool off. He finds a toilet and decides to go for a swim in the toilet. While he is enjoying his swim many other items end up in the toilet with him.

What I like the most about this book are the illustrations. The pictures are funny in and of themselves and add a lot of humor to the story. For example, there are many "no swimming in the toilet" warning signs that the frog hops right past and ignores.

I felt the end of the story could use a little more finesse. The end was a bit abrupt and I did not find it very believable. However, a child of the targeted age group may not care about the ending being believable. The objects that are added to the toilet seem to be random. At one point a boot is added. All the items, large and small are flushed down the toilet at the end and sent back to the pond. This could be part of the humor but it just felt a bit disjointed to me to have a large boot traveling through the pipes.

This book is probably most suited to a child between the ages of 3 and 7 years old. The humor in the book is written in an off-the-wall style so if you know a child who likes silly books this book will probably be a great hit with them.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because it has great illustrations and humor, I just wish the ending and plot aspects were a little bit stronger.

This book is well edited and I did not find any errors in it.
