A third person narrative ,where drama action and adventure are intertwined to form a masterpiece that reviews different characters and the paths each took leading them to Alaska. One comes to identify with the solid and credible characters as they experience love joy and pain. Each struggles to navigate through life and the rough climate that is Alaska. The pros and cons of the aviation industry are brought to light as we get acquainted with the hardships they each go through to earn their strips.

Set in beautiful yet dangerous Alaska,The Last Bush Pilots takes us through a journey of a young man's adventure in his pursuit of a life long dream.Perfectly illustrated for the reader's convenience, one can not help but be enchanted by Eric Auxier's description of the land. Our mind's eye is opened to the various acts of valor displayed in each and every one of the characters as they say "to hell with it" and let nothing stand in the way of their dreams.

To put the reader's mind at ease Eric Auxier uses an informal tone in his narration and a touch of humour. However the informality of the tone may be way too much,as he refers to flying a plane as "driving a plane". The novel has its own fair share of profane language ,for instance page 31 when DC says "just one summer and I'm out of this shithole". In the only sex scene in the novel Eric Auxier uses his narration so tactfully that we are left wondering if DC and Tonya indeed had made love in the plane, hardly worth mentioning!

3 out of 4 is my rating of this novel.I cannot give it a straight 4 because of the profane language and I certainly can not give it a rating below 3 since it has a very thick plot and unexpected twists and turns which renders it unpredictable. It is professionally edited with very few to no typo and grammar errors.I recommend this novel to adventure seeking adults, wannabe pilots and those bored stay at home moms and dads. After reading this novel I felt like I had the expertise of flying any single engine plane , not "drive".
