Man Mission is a book that many men will find a lot to agree with. The book is fairly well written and the story is quite interesting. For women the story may provide some welcome insight into both the heart and the mind of men. Women may also empathise with the charachters in the story as both male and female roles in modern society are in a state of flux.
For armchair travelers the descriptions and depictions of the exotic locales and both the locals and fellow travellers are spot on. The author sets the scene well even though the locales are just a backdrop for the ongoing story. The story is about men and their need to just be men sometimes through the various phases of life from early adulthood to middle age. Men of any age will see some of themselves in these well written charachters.
Overall I wouold recomend this book. It is a good solid page turner. The charachters are multi layered and realistic. The story is well told and will tug at all of your emotions. As with life, sometimes you'll laugh, sometimes you may cry, and in the end you will understand the struggle of modern men to define themselves as men while still clinging to the traditional expectations that they all live with a little better.
I give this story a rating of 3 out of 4.
