The novel The Guardian of Deceit is written by William H. Cole. In this novel there is murder, deceit, mistrust, love and gambling. The novel is set around the medical and football field. The author has captured the rich cultural heritage beautifully. I was quite impressed with his knowledge of football. It is a fast-paced action novel about how money and fame can change a person's life.

Darwin lost both his parents. He lives with his aunt. She becomes very sick and is unable to care for him. His cousin Lurther Pinnelli becomes his new guardian. Lurther is a famous football player. Dawin's parent's have left him a lot of money. Luther refuses to give him his allowance. He says he must earn his own money. Darwin does odd jobs around the mansion to earn money. He wants to become a doctor. He meets Dr. Adain Malverne who helps help fuful his dream. Luther has financial problems and takes up gambling, and he also uses drugs. Darwin helps Lurther to sort his life out.

The characters are all well-developed. It was a very thought- provoking novel that captured my attention. The story was written in a simple language that was easy to read and understand. There were lots of twist and turns in the story. The author discusses a lot of social issues, like bad judgment, bad child upbringing, bad choices and mistrust. The author is very talented to write such an interesting novel. The story flowed easily from one chapter to the next. It is a very realistic story about how fame, power and money can effect a person's life. I loved the ending of the book.

My favourite character is Darwin. His personality and goodness touched every character in this novel. He made a difference in every one's life. He has a lot of money but he was not proud or selfish. He helped Sweetney to win Luther's heart. In the beginning his grandmother and the staff did not like him, but as they got to know him, they learned to love and respect him. He helped Luther to become a better person. Darwin has a very good up bringing and good valves. He stood by his friends and family.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The novel was professional edited. I only found 2 errors. I recommend this novel to reader's who love medical, sports, drama and action novels. This novel has vulgar language and explisive sexual scenes. This book is more for a mature audience. It would not suit children. It is a very good book that had me hooked from cover to cover.
