Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks by Morton E Tavel, MD is a book about the well being of the human body in regard to health. The book is divided into three subsections ; the first is about a person’s well being that comes handy in day to day life, the second addresses myths that are plainly misconceptions that aren’t scientific or factual and the last part addresses products and/or information in the market that are of no use and/or could be hazardous to the consumer.

This book addresses a wide range of topics, from food consumption to sleeping habits to allergies to junk food which is most of what we have to make decisions about all day long.

The author of this book addresses a wide range of topics. This book is like a health Bible of everything you’d like to know, from fitness and how to lose weight to lifestyle diseases to topics on allergies. The book comes in handy for our lifestyle and habits as it covers topics on painkillers as most people like to self medicate, junk food, the usual cup of coffee we all like to grab on our way to work and sleeping habits among very many day to day decisions we have to make in our day to day lives.

You’d also notice that the author is well aware of the content he is writing about and is able to deliver expert opinion and advice about the topics.
He goes out of his way to offer citations, enrich his work with graphs, statistics and information from various sources. The author is also a certified health professional and is certainly a credible person to get all this helpful information from.

The book is also well written and for this and other reasons listed above, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book really brings to our senses that we should only solicit and consult professionals about our health matters and stop relying on our own knowledge, assumptions, myths and products we find in the market as they might only waste our money and not be helpful in the long run.

I would recommend this book to everyone who is concerned about their health and well being, be it a person who has unhealthy eating habits and would love to work on that, or someone who is conscious about his/her weight and would like to do it the right way. Every human being should actually get a hold of this book.
