Review of heartaches: bad boy vibes by H.M. Irwing
This book was definitely worth reading. Though, the author decided to put the book on a cliffhanger, I am eager to read the next part. I definitely rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars.
Anna Walters-Simmons, a beautiful lady with a body to die for, was a victim of rape and drug abuse. Her stepfather had just been murdered and what was worse? It was by her stepbrother. She tried seeking justice which was not offered, due to the fact that she had no solid evidence. She was drowning in her misery as everyone turned their backs on her and even those who did not, already had a lot on their plates that she did not want to bother them. She encountered Rafe on her way to a party which was hosted by her mother’s best friend every year and he offered to help her. Will she agree?
Raphael Brown also known as Rafe, was an ex-military personnel who also had his own share of what life had to offer. He met Anna on the way to the party hosted by his aunt and sees her struggling the way he had been, and is determined to help her. Will he succeed? Or will he just end up turning his back on her?
Heartaches, is an emotional roller coaster and it had a lot of twists and turns which I did not expect. I enjoyed reading it because I was able to relate to the characters. I came to the conclusion that Irwing is a really gifted writer, as the book was written in such a way that you feel every emotion captured, even to the last bit.
I had a bit of difficulty starting the book because the title was putting me off but during the course of reading I found out that what I had in mind was totally different from what was written in the book. I personally did not like the way Rafe dealt with his anger but I would also say due to his training and how he grew up, his actions might be justified by some readers.
The book was well edited and I did not find any errors. Though, I would not recommend the book to younger readers as the book contains rape and detailed sexual scenes. If you are also triggered by any of this, I would not recommend the book to you. If you feel you can still read the book after this, then by all means please go ahead. I know you will enjoy reading it just like I did.
