Larissa is a young girl with her destiny charted out for her before she was born... or hatched. She gets to start magic school at the age of twelve and that marks the advent of experiences that will change her whole life. Throw an interesting clique of friends, a well behaved prince crushing on her and people that would probably kill her if they found out who she is into the mix and you have got a real thriller on your hands.

Dragonborn by Ela Lourenco is a fiction book which has its setting in an alternate universe. It is book one in a five-book series. It sports different points of views sparingly but focuses majorly on the female protagonist.

This book gave me the thrill of keeping me on my toes. It had me wondering what was going to happen next. It, however, had a spice of teenage drama that had me wondering if the environment of the alternative universe was the only thing that differed from earth.

What I liked about the book was it was an easy read and I didn't know when I has read 103 pages. I was excited about what Larissa would face next. The memories were very clear and concise. The only thing I found wanting was at some point, I felt the teenage drama was a bit much. This book didn't fail in giving me the action I desired though.

In conclusion, I can't wait to see where Larissa's adventure leads. If you're interested in otherworldly, magical action with a hint of promised romance, this is the book for you. I rate this book a three out of four stars because I would have liked a bit more action. All in all, a good read.
