That's an interesting take on the book - and a really good piece of analysis, thank you. I've read a sample and at least one other review but your point about character development (lack of) really stands out. I like humorous skits on genre books, but it's not great when plot or character development takes a back seat.

After reading the sample of this book my biggest hang-up about finishing it were the characters. I was afraid they would come off as a little too juvenile. The odd mix of humor and horror makes me think of the Scary Movie series. That kind of "humor" isn't really for me. I'm still on the fence about this one so will probably end up passing on it for something I feel more compelled to read. Excellent analysis though!

I definitely think this type of slapstick humour is for a certain type of person. I’m also not a huge fan, but as a book to be read between the more serious, it’s a nice reprieve
