I've avoided this book for quite a while now; and though the plot and character development sounds poor, I still think the author's concept is great.

The Key of F. It is a YA fantasy/romance novel. It is the author's first book and it is pretty good so far (I'm about 60% of the way through it). I also enjoyed the last one I reviewed, Dancing with Sophia.
Have you read The Selection by Kiera Cass. It is a YA dystopian novel that is really good.

World War III, one worldwide emperor, regime assigned partners..... if only the author had properly developed the plot and characters, this would have been one interesting read! Thanks for the great review!!

I agree that this book had great potential! Too bad it fell flat in actuality. Thank you for your comment.

The premise of this book sounds great but it's a shame that it fell flat. I love a good dystopian book. Thanks for the review! I think I'll be skipping this one.

The plot on this one sounds promising. However, I don't think it's for me. Thanks for the review.

Science fiction and romance are definitely not my sort of thing, so you understand how I feel about the prospect of reading a novel that combines them! Still, I liked the detailed review of the book you've given here.

@CommMayo - "You must read part two to gain any type of closure."

I think this is for you too. 😄

It will be odd to talk about the WWW III when the author's focus is the romance genre. She just mentioned about it to give impact to the strict regime. I mean, for sure, the audience will wonder why the regime did those things mentioned in the novel. It's like, a supporting detail only.

This is what I wanted in a review---the truthful assessment and the courage to say it. You made a comprehensive summary of the story, readers will have a chance of developing a more panoramic view of the book's storyline. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The part II can either answer the questions on your mind or add up to your disgust.

A well analysed review touching upon the flaws in the character and plot development. Dystopic novels always amuse me...but

Great review, I really dig your writing style. I feel like the "love is banned" trope has been done to death, and it definitely doesn't sound like this book brought anything new to the genre. It sounds more like a hacky Hunger Games than anything else.

I also hate it when authors start with a series in mind and then treat the entire first book as Act 1. My kingdom for a standalone YA novel.
