After having read the book, the title suits the story quite well. The picture on the cover, not so much. I think something with Mary's ghost coming out of Charlie's body would be captivating.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

The cover actually kept me from reading the book for awhile! It is very creepy, and lead me to believe that this book might a bit too scary for my usual taste.

The title, too, was a bit intimidating at first. I didn't really know what "unspeakable" territory I was entering into.

The cover is certainly eye-catching and made me want to read the book. On the other hand, the title made me think the book might be about sexual abuse - if I didn't read the summary, I would not have been interested in the book based on the title.

Having not read the book yet I thought I should give my input on the title and cover of the novel.
Firstly, the title is intriguing. Readers will immediately be drawn in by the air of mystery surrounding the title, as they want to learn what the "unspeakable acts" are. I believe this appeals more to people who enjoy the horror or supernatural genre due to this title and also the presence of a levitating, photorealistic girl on the front cover. The scene depicted is quite gruesome, and the knife really draws your intention, the harsh reds telling us that this was a recent murder, or that blood has been spilled recently, a contrast to the tattered look of the house and the levitating girl. The subtitle also adds to the reader's desire to want to discover the unspeakable acts as they learn that the novel is about investigation and will thus lead to some answers.

That's about all I can gather at a glance really! I'd need to read the book before making any deeper analysis :)

I thought the cover was very creepy, but it fit with the storyline. It even describes Mary as if she were the women featured on the cover of the book after her death. It was not the cover that encouraged me to read this though but the description and review. The title also fits the story very well in how Asa and Martha tortured their victims.

I thought both were quite good.
Definitely in keeping with the themes of the book.

The cover for Unspeakable Acts is not appealing, IMO. I very much judge books by their cover, and if I were searching Amazon for my next read, I would certainly not stop to read the blurb for this book based solely on the cover not grabbing me. :(

"Never judge a book by its cover". This may be a widely known saying but most.people (even me) still do. And the cover for this book was very apt. A horror loving person will definitely.be tempted to lay his or her hands on this book by just looking at it. The title suited the book perfectly as well. :)

Okay, I have a new opinion about the cover after finishing reading the book. Before I said it was off-putting because it's a bit too creepy for my taste. However, now I think it is very fitting that Martha (who is the worst of the bunch) be featured as a scary entity. Let's face it, she is one woman you don't want to make mad whether she's alive or dead!

The title was appropriate, fit just right. But, the cover was a little strange.

I honestly really like this cover. I think it has a "Supernatural" sort of feel to it, and although it's pretty creepy and eerie, I think it's very cool. And the title just makes me think, "What are these unspeakable acts that are going to take place?", makes me curious about the content of the novel.
