Greetings from the Kenyan Coast

Post by AdaJude »

Hi, am a 33 year old male. I loved the local libraries as a kid. There's been a sad collapse of the reading culture in this part of the world. Seen by the poorly stocked libraries, if any, and torn books. So sad...

Am looking forward to actively participate in the forums, make friends, read great books and improve on my writing. A close friend introduced me to this site...he said it's more serious than Facebook! He also warned me to look out for your strict editors/adjudicators. I'll give it a try.

Hoping to hear from you guys, now, if I can only find where I can chose books to read...

Welcome Ada and I conquer with you concerning the reading culture but you know what they say; if you want to hide something from an African put it in a book.
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

So sad about the state of social programs around our nation. I also come from the Kenyan coast. Our leaders are too engrossed with foreign debt and influence they have no time for libraries. Hoping you found your way around well, you can count on my support.

Thanks Alicnim, didn't know I'd find this many Kenyans on this site. I agree with you on our politics. Our leaders are too hooked on foreign powers it's like some proxy war. With Kenyans none the wiser. I'll have a devout soon, see you then.

Everyone else, thanks for warm welcome, see you in the forums.
