Hello,

Let me start of by saying I love to read and for many years the library was my second home. I enjoy mystery and romance novels. When I get burned out on all the fluff I switch to reading about finance and investing. I haven't had much time to read lately as all my efforts are centered on getting a new job. While scouring the Internet for a new work from home opportunity I stumbled upon this book club. I look forward to having a little fun reading.

Hello fellow bibliophiles

“Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination.”
― Mark Twain

“I have always lived violently, drunk hugely, eaten too much or not at all, slept around the clock or missed two nights of sleeping, worked too hard and too long in glory, or slobbed for a time in utter laziness. I've lifted, pulled, chopped, climbed, made love with joy and taken my hangovers as a consequence, not as a punishment.”
― John Steinbeck

“Quiet people have the loudest minds.”
― Stephen King

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
― Ernest Hemingway

“I'll give you the whole secret to short story writing. Here it is. Rule 1: Write stories that please yourself. There is no Rule 2.”
― O. Henry

...This, from the writers we admire...

Hi! I stumbled on this online book club and it piqued my interest.

I have been a bookworm for at least 20+ years, already to the point that I think I am a bookbutterfly :D .

I see books as a getaway portal to all stresses in life and I at least read one book a day. I love romance books since it normally tells a relationship with happy endings. Who does not love happy endings?

Now, how do I start reading books in this site? :D :D

Hi,
I have just registered here and still discovering how this works.

I have always been reading. I am 62 now, so I have read a lot in Spanish -my mother language- as well as in English. I like reading poetry, theater, short stories, novels and history books, mainly.

My favorite writers in Spanish are Federico García Lorca, Miguel Delibes, Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, among many others. My favorite books in Spanish are: Don Quijote de la Mancha by Cervantes and Cién años de soledad by G. G. Márquez.

Among the writers in English I love are: Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Poe, Agatha Christie, D. H. Lawrence, Walter Scott, Achinua and hundreds of them. Some of favourite books in English are: The Scarlett Letter, Things Fall Appart, The Color Purple, A Street Car Name Desire, Hard Times, As You Like It,...

Sometimes I write poetry, film reviews, political criticism, short stories...

I would like to become a professional writer one day, so I hope this place could help me to learn a lot about reading critically and writing, too.

Nice readings to all of us! :techie-studyingbrown:
