If you want a romance set in a fantasy world, with quality world building and intricate plotting over a series, Rhapsody: Child of Blood by Elizabeth Haydon might be worth a try. It is the first in a series, and I haven't read it in a long time, but if I recall correctly there is a romance, sex, and a complex fantasy world with plenty of sword fights and mystical creatures both friend and foe. This is balanced by the heroine being a complete Mary Sue, but otherwise the characters are pretty solid.
If you want a fantasy with romantic elements, try The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold. Well developed fantasy world with a complex plot and fantastic writing with plenty of romance, but the sex is off-screen. This one is light on the swords and battle, heavy on the magic, though.

'Erotic Fantasy' doesn't cover it. That book is intense. There is a whole series of those books both in female and male perspectives. Incredible writing but not for the faint of heart.NL Hartje wrote: ↑06 May 2018, 00:02 If you're looking for erotic fantasy, I definitely suggest Kushiel's Dart by Jaqueline Carey. It's a series that follows a "pleasure worker" who has a unique affinity for pain. Super kinky but definitely fantasy. There is also a love story woven throughout, kind of a forbidden love. It's easy for me to recommend because it's one of my all-time favorites.
