I am looking for ideas to give to my niece. She's 4yrs old and loves animals, especially horses. I have already gotten her the classic children's books. Maybe steer me towards something new but still quality. Thanks

My daughter is reading Fancy by Kristin Earhart. It is actually part of a series called the Breyer Stablemates and I think each one features a different horse and as far as I can tell, a girl who rides and takes care of them. The age range says 4-8 yr olds. I don’t think they are super new (the date on Fancy is 2010), but still modern.

I would suggest 'The Gruffalo' by Julia Donaldson, an enchanting animal story (though alas, no horse) with lovely illustrations and a great story told in verse.
