I was making a birdhouse! It was a summer project thing, and it turned out surprisingly well. What experience do you have with power tools?ylisa7 wrote:

Hm, I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the info MadLibraryScientist!MadLibraryScientist wrote:A great tool for finding new books is NoveList. Check with your local library to see if they offer it as a digital resource. You can find read-alikes based on titles or authors that you like. You can also search by genre, sub-genre, and a slew of other ways. I use it all the time with patrons.

And if you like dystopia, I second the rec of the Giver series by Louis Lowry. The first books is called "The Giver." And though it's an older book, I also recommend a standalone called Invitation to the Game. Older but good.
Diane Duane writes a Young Wizards series that, while not dystopian, has some of the aspects of that genre. The first book is called So You Want to be a Wizard.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (beautiful writing, very original plot)
The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson (Pretty long, but an amazing read. Try Elantris-by the same author-if you're looking for something shorter and want to get to know his writing style)
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
Happy reading!
